FAQs

Do I need a referral?
Only if your insurance company requires it. If you have a PPO plan, you most likely don’t need a referral. HMO’s are more likely to need a referral. If you are not certain, please call your insurance company to find out. The office of your family doctor can often fax a referral to us in advance. Please obtain this before your visit, as most insurance companies will not accept a request for referral after the service has been rendered.

Are we accepting new patients?
Yes.

Are your services covered by my insurance?
All medically necessary foot and ankle care is usually covered by insurance. There may be some exceptions as determined by your particular insurance policy. If you have any questions, contact your insurance company or our office for additional assistance.

What if I do not have insurance?
We ask you to pay for your initial services when they are rendered. Payment plans can be arranged if necessary. In addition, credit cards are accepted for payment.

What do I need to bring for my appointment?
Your primary care physician’s name and address.
A list of other physicians you currently see.
A list of your current medications.
Your insurance card(s) and referral information.
Your co-payment.

What is a podiatrist?
A podiatrist is a physician that specializes in the treatment of all foot and ankle ailments. The education of a podiatrist consists of a 4 year undergraduate degree, then a 4 year medical degree with special emphasis on the feet and ankle. Upon completing podiatric medical school, a podiatrist attends surgical residency. This extensive training provides the Doctor with skills of clinical diagnosis and treatment both conservative and surgical. You should consult a podiatrist if you have not had your feet examined for problems, or if you are experiencing any problems.
